This weekend was okay, kind of a blur. Scott & I went thrifting on Friday, stopped in to Keiko’s mom (she’s such a sweetie, and was getting ready to celebrate her birthday!). My mom & I headed over to Nannie’s on Saturday and then this super awesome new ice cream parlor, Cherry Smash, a few doors down. Late Saturday night this dress was born. I couldn’t sleep, and I’ve had this fabric for months, so I decided to make a dress. I made it sans pattern or plans..just used the old noggin’! Sunday was filled with dinner with the family, fun, laughs and hospital visits (all is fine!). Monday was just, well…a Monday, to say the least. Now that I’m back to the old grind, I kind of don’t mind it that much. How was your weekend?

  1. So impressed with the dress! You’ve really got me thinking about breaking out the sewing machine more. The color is absolutely beautiful and I love it paired with the floral cardigan! Beautiful outfit, Kirstin!

  2. I love the fit, color and fabric of that dress! Beautiful whip-up, and I can’t believe you did it without a pattern (but that gives me hope that perhaps I can do the same :fingers crossed: )! I imagine you’ll get a lot of wear out of it… it looks like a piece that can go season to season with accessory changes and tights EASY, and that’s awesome :)

  3. Amazing dress, I can’t believe you made it. That takes some serious skill. I tried making a super cool shirt the other day, but it was an intense fail. I’m trying to salvage what I can though. I love your floral sweater too, I love flowers. They are just so happy and make everything feel like a fairy tale or dream.

    Great blog, I’m following!
    Can’t wait to see more!

Feel free to visit my blog!

    xx Eva

  4. Wow! That dress is so cute, I can’t believe you did it without a pattern! When I saw it on instagram I thought it was black, but I love the purple. And every time I drive by Cherry Smash I want to see what it was- have to go inside now I know it’s one of my favorite kinds of stores! (I thought it was children’s clothing or something ha)
