I did it again. I dyed my hair back to black. I missed it too much. Though it isn’t my natural hair color (dark brown-black), it’s close enough for me. I tried out the John Frieda foam dye, and it’s not bad. I like the end result, but the process kinda stunk. I had to use the entire bottle (as recommended), and while I was waiting the 30 minutes, it started running, dripping down the sides of my face – so uncool. I panicked, and was able to hold off until I had 10 minutes left before I jumped in the shower to rinse. Overall, I think it came out really nice, but I’m not sure if I’d use the product again b/c of the running. What is your experience with box hair dyes? Which brand is your favorite? Do you have any recommendations? I’d love to know!
I tend to prefer hair dye in a tube that you mix with a tube of peroxide bought from the salon product store but, if my hair needs a break, I go for Garnier boxed dye. It smells better than most other dyes and had a great consistency so no leakage.
I’m glad you posted this– I would have been drawn to a foam dye as it sounds lighter and cleaner. Yikes.
Thanks so much for your input! It’s been a while since I used Garnier, as well as the developer/professional hair dye. I may need to head back to Sally’s in a few weeks and try it out again.

You look awesome, I love this dress! The black hair looks great on you! I use Feria dye, and it has great staying power. Though it can be a bit harsh on my hair.

I love the black hair on you. I don’t have much experience with box dye. It’s been too long and I was young an inexperienced. I think I would have liked this look more without a belt.

It looks good! I have been wanting to dye my hair jet black for a long time. It’s weird to say it because a lot of people tell me my hair is already black, but it’s not! I’ve had terrible luck with box colors so I don’t think I would ever use box colors again! Also, love your dress and pretty mustard accessories/shoes!
