Please excuse the mosquito bites all over my legs. It’s that time of year, you know, where the mosquitos love to come out and harass you every chance they get. I’ve been playing around with skirts lately. Skirts & I have a love-hate relationship. I love the way they look, their playfulness, their ease of wear. They are the ultimate definition of femininity to me. From the classic styles of the early 1900s to modern day, skirts are key in the evolution of female fashion. I, myself, have a quite a decent skirt collection, and I always find myself drawn to them. The pleated skirt featured in this post has such a lovely fullness to it, thanks to the pleats, which creates such an attractive line.

Fashion tip: Wear your skirts at your natural waist. This will accentuate the smallest part of your waist, giving you that classic hour glass shape. Feel free to accessorize with scarves, belts, or anything that makes you happy!

Such a cute skirt and I’m loving the hair do!

I was never much of a skirt person but lately I’ve been gravitating toward them. The more flow they have the better! :)

I hide my natural waist as it is anything but hourglass. But you’re built for a cinched waist dress for sure. I love the outfit- the color is so perfect for summer- professional is need be but fun. Does that describe you?

Mosquitos feed their young with your blood. Yum! And summer is time for us creatures to make baby creatures! I’ve read that B vitamins help your body to not respond so harshly to their bites, which may or may not be true. I’m glad that I’m not dealing with them at the moment- they tend to eat me alive!

    Happy Tuesday lovely Kirsten!

I have been craving full skirts that have a fitted waistline. I have extra skin left from pregnancy and it creates a pudgy front on my stomach, so wearing skirts at my natural waistline helps a lot!

Kirstin Marie, I love you in green! And I think it was genius to pair this outfit with this orange bag! I’m sorry for the delay in commenting but I’m in Spain and the WiFi here is driving me insane with how slow it is! Roxy sends hugs to Randall! :)

  13. I love the way you paired this light printed skirt with the bold green sweater and the orange purse. I couldn’t really tell the skirt was printed to begin with so it looked like you had a pretty awesome colorblocked outfit (but it’s still equally as awesome with the print)!

Good tip with the skirt wearing!! I’m on a hunt for more skirts now :)

You look so pretty in the greens! I know…we’ve been so used to wearing things low on our waist. I’ve had to retrain myself to wear things at my natural waist, and it still feels weird sometimes!

I love this color combination on you! Great photos, as always :)

  16. Love the satchel and the green on green look. I think I like to wear my skirts a little high–I don’t know..that just works for me.

And I must say, I definitely don’t miss the Florida mosquitoes.

  17. Jamie says:

I love your monochromatic look here! Especially in the greens. I’m really into the greens myself right now. :)
