I’m sure you’ve noticed by now – I don’t much like to look dead on into a camera, let alone show my finger nails. It’s an old habit I have. I like to either look down, to the side, or away when having my picture taken. I’m getting past it, thanks to blogging, but it’s definitely still an existing habit. I also am terrified to show my finger nails in photos. I was a crazy nail biter when I was younger, all the way through college actually. I don’t bite them anymore, but the damage is done. Also, working in theatrical lighting for ten years has left me with permanent scars on my hands. I use protein on my nails every day to keep them semi-strong, but they rarely grow past my fingertips without breaking off or peeling. Though these are all old habits, they definitely take a long time to move past. The old saying holds much truth, in case you’ve never believed it. Old habits die hard, that they do.

  2. I am the same way! I prefer not to look at the camera dead on but I try to include one “face” shot in my posts. Plus, when I still worked at the coffee shop, I always had cuts on my hands or bruises on my legs, so I tried to angle shots so neither my hands nor bruises showed.

I totally love all of your jewelry too! Apparently I need to start checking out the jewelry at Forever 21, so cute.

Kirsten, I like how you’ve changed the face of the dress w/ a top!

Kirstin Marie, old habits do die hard. I’ve been a nail biter all my life. A therapist once told me that nail biting is one of the biggest tell all signs of a lack of self control. Yikes! My nails, like yours, don’t grow very long and I really have to work hard to not chew on them. Shameful, I know. That said, I love how you’ve styled this lace top! It looks perfect layered over this dress! :)

I have seen so many people wearing that lace top – it’s making me think I should try to get in on that trend! I like the layered effect of it on top of the patterned dress. I’m glad you were able to give my old dress a new life! It puts a smile on my face knowing that someone is able to put to use something I have previously owned. :)
