Product Review: Fake Tattoos

Fake Tattoos, a company based out of Sweden, contacted me a while back to do a product review on their  100% safe & non-toxic faux tattoos. I thought it would be fun & something different, so I took it on. Once they arrived, They were really nicely packaged, and came with so many different options to choose from. I chose the black & white tattoos over the color options. I’m more of a classic black, white & grey tattoo lover when it comes to that versus color, for my personal use/on myself, though I always love the way color ones look on everyone else! I chose three different tattoos to use, and placed them on three different parts of my body:

Birds behind my ear

Carpe Diem on my left wrist

A bird cage on my left ankle

I have to say I was really impressed with these. I used to use fake tattoos all the time as a teenager, and I remember the application process always took a lot longer and much more patience. These were so easy! I cut out the tattoo, peeled off the plastic protective film, stuck it where I wanted it, and pressed a damp cloth on it for 30 seconds. After that, the backing sort of peeled off with the cloth and then I just wiped the area to get rid of any gunky stuff left behind from the backing, and I was done. I think they look pretty nice. In fact, people who saw them asked me when I got tattooed. The birds behind my ear lasted only about a day, sadly. The one on my wrist started coming off after about 4 days, and the one on my ankle is still there – after about a week. These are definitely high quality, and are great if you just want to play around with ideas for a tattoo, etc.
I’d like thank Fake Tattoos for providing me with these tattoos to do a product review on, I really enjoyed using them!

  1. Wow! I can’t believe how long they lasted. So cool :)

  2. Kara says:

Those are cool! I remember using those as a child but I didn’t think they lasted that long(?) so these sound much better. I like that they look like tattoos that someone would actually get, rather than those typical fairy or crazy dragon ones.

  3. Mode Plus says:

It’s a good alternative to see if you want a permanent one or not, don’t you think?

  4. I think the wrist one is pretty cool:)

I’ve always thought that quotes on the inside of a wrist were really classy tattoos! Whenever I use fake ones, that’s right where I place them. I see I’m not the only one with that idea. :)
That bird one behind your ear is awesome! But I can see how it might wash away very quickly – say day!

  11. man, i’m in love. i used to do the fake tattoo thing in school as well. and now i have real tattoos, but i think this would be a good way to help me decide what to get next. it’s great that the one on your ankle is still there after a week.

Kirstin Marie, what a fun way to try out a tattoo! I admit I would never get a permanent tattoo but I have been wanting to get a henna one on my foot since like forever. These look super cool. I like the birds in flight!
