Friend Friday: A little holiday list

photo

No holiday party is complete without: Some sort of holiday music, food, or beverage. Oh, and sparkles. Holiday parties need something sparkly and glittery.

My favorite Christmas song: Carol of the Bells. Think “Home Alone”.

My favorite seasonal recipe: All of the amazing cookies my mom & I bake. Check my post from last year for pictures!

The perfect New Year’s Eve outfit includes: Something feminine, sparkly, & flattering.

At the parties, I’ll be drinking: Whatever is available! Water, egg nog, tea…just no alcohol for me please.

Eggnog, good or bad? Delish!

Did you ever take pictures on Santa’s lap at the mall? No. Not since I was in Pre-Primary.

Gingerbread Latte or Peppermint Mocha: Can’t a girl have both? Yumm…

Worst gift I ever got: A crab brooch made entirely of emeralds with ruby eyes. I was like 10. It was hideous. I was also a kid.

Best gift I ever received: Contradictory to the last question, every gift is the best gift to me now that I am an adult. I don’t expect any gifts, so any gift I receive is awesome.

My family has this weird tradition: None really…just the usual – dinner together, gifts, desserts…

My best bargain find for a gift this year: My entire Christmas list! I spent under $200 and got all of my shopping done.

If I could only buy all my gifts from one place, I’d shop at: This one is tough, because I can’t buy all of my gifts for everyone from the same place really…I guess Target? They have a decent variety.

Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer or Frosty the Snowman: Rudolph – because the original clay-mation is the best….and I love the abominable snow man.

My favorite holiday memory: Waking up as a little girl and running out to make sure Santa ate the cookies & milk I’d left, and getting so excited when I saw it was eaten…and then running to wake my parents up at some early morning hour to tell them about it.

My favorite Christmas movie: A Christmas Story, among many others.

The best part about holiday decorations is: How festive it makes you feel just by being in the same room as it.

Rip off the wrapping paper or neatly pull off the tape: Both. It depends on the excitement levels.

Miracle on 34th Street or It’s a Wonderful Life: Neither.

It doesn’t feel like the holiday season until: It’s cold outside! Which sadly never really happens down in Florida. Pooh.

All I want for Christmas is: For my family & friends to be happy, safe & have their dreams come true.

  5. Mmm I can’t choose between the Peppermint Mocha or Gingerbread Latte either. The Creme Brulee Latte is another :)

  6. that crab brooch is definitely not something a 10 year old would like. and i don’t think i’ve ever sat on Santa’s lap at the mall…at least i don’t remember doing that.

    lovely list!

  7. Congrats on getting everything under $200! I was going to put sparkle for “what does a holiday party need” and what a NYE’s dress should be :p

I love gingerbread lattes… I can drink them FOREVER and EVER and EVER. I had eggnog for the first time last year and didn’t like it. Maybe it’s the dairy+alcohol that just doesn’t agree with me…

Aww.. this is so cute! I agree- Target is awesome, you can get everything there. And I agree with you on the decorations. And I lol’d with you “excitement levels” remark :)

  12. Aww yeah, Target rules! ACS always stressed me out as a kid, I felt bad for the little dude. I think it’s funny now though!

  13. Sarah says:

i ALWAYS unwrap my presents slowly, in hopes to keep the pretty wrapping paper. but for those wrappers that don’t appeal to me, i just rip them apart, haha! but i must say, it’s so much fun ripping open the wrappers – adds to the excitement. i love me some good holiday music, it always sets me in the mood. love it! i’ve gotten so excited like a lil girl whenever i hear christmas carols in the shopping malls. haha.

christmas has always been my favorite season! x

  14. Vanessa says:

Notch up another vote for the eggnog!
