Friend Friday: Hair Care

1.    How often do you get your hair cut?
Ha! I am the worst at this. I’d say maybe once a year. Maybe. There was a streak when I was cutting my own hair, simply to save time and money. Hair cuts can be so expensive!!

2.    Do you go to the same stylist each time, try someone new, go to the cheap hair cutting chains  or live it up in a salon?

I do now. I found my current stylist a few years ago, and she is the best. Plus, she works out of her own salon that she built in her home, so she is super cheap (but always quality).

3.    Do you color your hair? How often? What’s your natural color?

I used to color my hair all.the.time. I haven’t colored it in a while. Mostly because I haven’t been in the mood, I’m digging my natural hair color, and I’m worried that if I color it too much my hair will fall out (haha – no seriously). Being that I have thing hair already, that is a concern! My natural color is dark brown/black with reddish highlights.

4.    The one thing you always do to keep your hair looking great is:
Honestly? My hair does not always look great. Lately it has this new “I want to be oily & frizzy at the same time” trend, and is completely unmanageable - which is why I wear it up pretty much every day. I wish I could find a shampoo for oily fine hair. That would be brilliant and probably solve all my problems.

5.    What hair trend do you love and wish you could rock?

Big thick braids or the large messy bun. I love big hair, and I so wish I could rock it.

We are both bad at getting hair cuts except I’m not brave enough to cut it myself (oh the horror!). Glad your hair working for you lately :)

  3. You look great in the updo! I dye my hair cole black because my natural hair colour is actually auburn. I look less like an alien with black to me! lol

  4. Aww, I love the bun! Very cute :)

I’m the same way, too about hair color. I was doing a color wash, and then having a semi-permanent color put in by my stylist. But my former stylist kept begging me not to color my hair because it’s so dark in it’s natural state that I stopped.

Hello, pretty hair! I think that’s the first time I’ve seen you with it down! I completely relate to the greasy issue, and I wear mine up most of the time for the same reason (and because it takes an age to dry and I’m not particularly patient with that). It’s not very glam, but I actually use Head & Shoulders and occasionally switch out for a basic clarifying shampoo from Suave when I feel like it’s getting oily. The clarifying shampoo helped so much.

And I totally wish I could rock braids too, but my hair is too thick. It looks silly and half of it falls out anyway, haha.
